Seminar: Global Music for Village Churches

South Congregational Church is sponsoring an interactive seminar on “Global Music for Village Churches,” Saturday, May, 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Michael Hawn, Distinguished Professor of Music and Director of the Sacred Music Program at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, will lead the seminar.  He is an internationally-known worship leader and consultant and the author of several books, including Halle, Halle: We Sing the World Around and Gather into One: Praying and Singing Globally.

Mark the date and feel free to invite a friend. (For non-members, we suggest a donation of $25.)

Global music has already deepened and revitalized our congregation’s worship and spirituality.  In this interactive seminar, we will continue to discover the gifts and insights of Christians across the globe.  We will learn about musical and worship styles from a variety of cultural and ethnic communities and discover ways to integrate global and cross-cultural worship styles with our current congregational worship at South Congregational.  Practical in orientation, we will learn new forms of music for enriching and rejuvenating our worship service.
