On Saturday, October 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (with hospitality beginning at 9:00 a.m.) we are blessed to have Cindy Maybeck lead us in a workshop, entitled “Finding Our Story in God’s Story.” The workshop asks: “How do we tell stories of faith in the church?” and invites us to come learn how to craft stories about worship, prayer and justice to demonstrate the presence of God. Embedding biblical stories and traditional hymns or prayers into personal narrative brings forth the church experience in a fresh new way. Telling personal stories of faith offers a tool for evangelism in an authentic, sincere and welcoming way.
Our leader will be Rev. Cindy Maybeck:
An inspirational preacher, teacher and storyteller, Rev. Cindy Maybeck founded Spirit Story ministry in 2013. She designs and presents storytelling programs, teaches workshops, leads retreats, provides spiritual direction and preaches in pulpits far and wide. Rev. Maybeck’s 24 years of pastoral experience in the local church have been deeply grounded in prayer, and her ministry inspires and encourages others to grow more deeply in their faith. With a master certification from the Academy for Biblical Storytelling in the Network of Biblical Storytellers, she embodies scripture dramatically as she tells it by heart. Her blend of biblical and personal stories leave audiences transfixed and inspired; many report experiencing healing and a deep sense of God’s love.
