Singing Our Faith: Enlivening Worship through Diverse Musical Styles. Saturday, November 8, 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., South Congregational Church, 565 Main Street, Centerville, MA.
Nationally-recognized composer, organist, worship consultant, and author Daryl Hollinger will be leading a workshop aimed at congregational vitality through lively worship, using diverse global musical styles. Participants will explore ways to bring forth the musical gifts of congregations and choirs of all sizes and strategies to employ diverse forms of music and instrumentation while being attentive to budget concerns. This workshop will be interactive, creative, and instructive and is aimed at church musicians, choir members, pastors, and lay leaders. You will learn new ways to nurture spiritual vitality in your congregation’s worship service.
Dr. Daryl Hollinger is a nationally-known composer, organist, and worship consultant. He has served as Dean of the Chapel, Organist, and Adjunct Professor of Worship at Lancaster Theological Seminary and Minister of Music at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hollinger held the position of Director of the Ephrata Cloister Chorus at the Historical Ephrata Cloister, in Pennsylvania, for eighteen years. An active church musician for over thirty years, Dr. Hollinger is the co-author with Bruce Epperly, Pastor of South Congregational Church, of From a Mustard Seed: Enlivening Worship and Music in the Small Church and has composed a collection of organ pieces, From Every Corner: Diverse Organ Preludes along with many other musical pieces.
