Advent is a time of joyful preparation. We contemplate the coming of Christ in every child, and the hope that every child will be born into families and communities of love. We are reminded that we are that community of love, and can be the answer to a child’s prayer. Advent tells us to notice beauty, love, joy, and – sadly – injustice and grief and respond as people who seek God’s vision on earth as it is in heaven.
“One Love: Celebrating our Christmas Traditions” is the theme of South Congregational Church’s program of Christmas music and reflections, Wednesday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. Steel drummer Vernon Parris will provide music from Jamaica and the Caribbean in tandem with music from pianist and minister of music Pam Wannie. Pastor Bruce Epperly will guide the community in reflections on hope, expectation, gratitude, and community.
This event is free of charge and open to seekers and people from all religious traditions. For more information, contact bepperlychurch@comcast.net or https://southcongregationalchurch-centerville.org/
