January Events

This weekend, we begin the season of Epiphany, the revealing of God’s presence in Magi from the East, in the rising star that guides them, in a working class family and their baby, in the stranger, and in us.   God’s wisdom and word is everywhere.  Faith is the art of noticing God’s presence in surprising places.

This week we tune our senses to God through Morning Worship and Communion at 10:00 a.m. followed by our First Sunday Potluck.  Then, at 11:50 a.m., we will have a brief introduction to Colossians, concluding no later than 12:15 p.m.

Great things are happening in the next few weeks. Save these dates:

January 7 (Wednesday) Sophia Speaks: Celebrating the Feminine Dimensions of God, 7:00  p.m.

January 25 (Sunday)      Annual Meeting and Potluck, following worship

January 31 (Saturday)   Lecture and Book Signing for Pastor Bruce’s Latest Book, “Finding

God in Suffering: A Journey with Job.” 11:00 a.m.

Please join us and invite a friend!

Pastor Bruce

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. We always have some events listed on our website under the Events tab but occasionally some don’t get listed in a timely fashion. Given the limitations of time and money for web maintenance it is sometimes difficult to get all events posted in time. We are working to rectify this and hope to have an actual calendar display on the website sometime in the near future.

I am in the process of updating events events for December so you might want to visit our site again over the next day or two to take a look. A near-term event now posted on our website is our church’s participation in the Centerville Stroll offering several musical performances by our adult choir, bell choir and soloists. The performances will take place this coming Sunday, December 7th from 4:30PM – 5:00PM. Also, please consider attending one of our Sunday services. Newcomers are always welcomed. –Dan Dray, church member (and web maintenance)
