Our Music Minister, Pam Wannie, Now a Chaplaincy Intern

May 2017

What a glorious weekend in May when I participated in the Baccalaureate Service and Commencement at Andover Newton.  I graduated with honors and also with a certificate in Ministerial Leadership and another in Pastoral Care.  This has been a long and fulfilling journey, and I am so grateful for all the support and encouragement that I have received from my family, Pastor Bruce and Kate, former Pastor Michael McSherry, the choir who allowed me to try out new learnings, the leadership circle – past and present- who allowed me to infuse their work with what I was learning in seminary, and of course the congregation have been and continue to be a constant source of inspiration.

The journey continues.  This summer, as part of a Clinical Pastoral Education Program I am volunteering as a chaplain at Cape Cod Hospital, Bayside, Bridge to Hope and Duffy Health Center. I am excited for the opportunity to widen my perspective and to learn from these programs.  In addition, I will be volunteering to offer pastoral care to members of South Congregational Church.  Don’t be shy, please consider calling me for conversation and/or spiritual guidance.  I’d be happy to travel to your home or meet you out in the world.  Let me know what works for you.  Throughout my studies I focused on pastoral care, and have had many wonderful opportunities to be present to church members already, as well as working in this capacity with other pastors and members of the community.
